They are great with or without facelift , they do not rust, no common issues and they can gor for £1999 upwards. Buy one

Chassis are prone to rust, especially the rear quarter, they tend to crack down the seem due to the rust expanding out the internal joints.

Other than that not really any nightmare issues, just a few usual problems that are straightforward to sort.

Facelift is exactly that it has compound headlights and a different grill, rear lights are arranged slightly differently but not a lot else different. The lights get thieved quite often.

Whats the spec like? Id be after full leather etc etc, would that be ES spec?
i have a top spec one and a std, what do you want to know , if buying they are a few things to look for like rear chassis ,ace pipes, damp carpets as well as usual like whats in cooling system

Just don't want to buy something I cant fix myself, or a rust bucket, or a money pit.

thats up to you in when you looking to a great extent, some people just dont seem to have a good look underneath, wheel hubs ,fuel pumps ,fuel pressure regulators ,injector looms are common and easy to do

Great cars, comfy, great in the rough, handle well for a live axle off roader, go well for a Diesel.

ACE is ace, people forget it disengages for low speeds, active suspension
SLS is great
Mine has CDL so best of both worlds

TD5 is the first Diesel to get me out of a petrol engined car, a superb donk. Last LR designed engine too.

Facelifts also often have CDL, much better when on mud

If you want CDL, then make sure it is fitted and not just the label in front of the transfer box that shows how to engage the CDL even if it is not fitted.:)

Push to neutral, push left, then into which ratio you want, red light comes on warning it is in diff lock

What is cdl?
center diff lock, because d2s have traction control, which works very well early d2s didnt have in cab use of cdl it was only used for roller testing with a prop removed, later boxes had the mechanism removed from the box completely and later still had it fully refitted with in cab use
