I am thinking of getting myself a 90 as i hardly use my series 2a 1969 its done about a 310 miles since 2001 when i bought it with a broken gear box. I put a recon 2a gearbox and new clutch on. Its a Soft top, has a bikini and a full soft top loads of new parts (electric distributer, brake drums, callipers ,pads, light lenses, front bumper.. Has had bits added before i got it and runs on a 2.5 land rover 90 petrol engine that is solid and starts on the button . It is currently sorn but was thinking of putting it back on the road in May as the new mot rule comes in then! At present the main fault is the new brakes on it are binding a bit and the indicators need sorting as they have a mind of their own. Chassis is good, springs are great, paintwork is good bronze green done with a brush i think but shines up lovely. We live on a private park so it gets driven about anyway to check horses or go to the pub (private road).
I fancy a 90 simply because of the more practical use one would provide ie spare truck for work, wife, daughter could drive it without whining. I am happy working on one that needs a fair bit done but would like a running project rather than a chassis up rebuild. Money either way but i am assuming mine is about £3000-3500 looking at ebay and depends what someone has. If you are interested let me know
