Hi all

you guys have offered some valuable advice before, and I hope you dont mind
me asking a further question?

We have almost decided to go for the Vitara, and although the 1.6 JLX's are
more in my price range, I could probably stretch to the V6 if it was much
better.

As always, my heart says go for the bigger one, but if I'm using my head
probably the 1.6 would be fine. We hope to use it for occasional off road
frolicks, but mainly for throwing the camping gear and the dog in and
setting off into the Dales or Peak District etc, probably only needing to
drive on tarmac for a few hours at a time. Other than that it will be used
only as a very occasional second car and loading up with the walls/debris I
keep knocking down in the house i'm renovating.

So the question is, would I get much more from the bigger V6 or should I
save my money and buy on ald 1.6.

also, just out of interest, which (if either) are best off road, Auto's or
manuals. I notice all the bigger fancier ones have the auto's but my dada
good old LandRover is a manual

thanks

Andy

on the engine side of things the 1.6 is very good at what it does, but if
you going to tow lots of things etc then i would go for the V6

The 1.6 16valve is very competant, in either manual or auto, short or long
wheelbase. The v6 is not alot faster and is *very* juicey. Unless you do a
big mileage and want the quieter crusing ability of the V6 and have it
LPG-ed there is no reason to have it.

Tim..

Many thanks, very useful
