Hi all, I have a landrover disco 2002 facelift, 4000cc v8, 2002 LPG converted. I was on the way to garage to part ex it in for a newer model when the head gasket blew litirally as i was a mile from the garage .. 6 weeks later i have finally had that replaced and went to go off my driveway today and found myself scrapping across the floor.. the suspension just isnt working. it keeps blowing the 30 amp fuses and i have been told it is prob the air compressor so please help to advise me if a) you also think it is the compressor, and b) if i can get a second hand one (refusing to pay £300 for a new one straight after cost of head gasket) any pointers in how to fit it?.. or c) is it possible to take my old compressor off and 'fix' it?

many thanks in advance.. im thinking twice about landrovers at the mo grrr (p.s any ideas what my car is worth with the LPG conversion as no dealer seems to know exactly)

Sounds like the compressor motor has seized up to the point where it blows the fuses and fuseable links in the engine bay fuse box.

300 gets you a valve block as well as the compressor. You get the black outer box and everything inside it, so it is just bolt onto the chassis and connect pipes and multiplugs.

I've had customers bring me ebay compressors in worse state than the one I'm taking off, so it isn't ideal to buy second hand except where you can guarantee a refund. The unit is not servicable. You also need to realise that by removing the compressor unit itself, the mounting bushes are disturbed, so you'll probaly have a much more noisy compressor unit than the original.

I know you are selling it and V8's don't get the same money as Td5's, but it's bad karma to sell on a knowingly bad vehicle.:hippie:
