Summot wierd Happened today .................

I was pootling along listenin to Jeff waynes Word of the worlds & the phone rang...(Id fergot me ear thingy) so I pulled up, switched off & answered the phone.......... (Mrs wanted a loaf of bread!!!!)

Anyhow.... Turned her back on Fired her up & off I set again ... then I noticed the fuel gauge .....

When I stopped the gauge read 1/4 full & the dash said 62 miles "Range"

When I started off again the gauge read FULL & the dash said 348 miles "Range"..... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I carried on Driving & watchin the gauge slowly fall back to 1/4 full & the "Range" deminish to 62 again

& so to my question, WTF Happened there then ???????????????? Speedo Temp & everything else remained "Normal"

Your Thoughts Gentlemen please!!!

How's about a power surge if its only been switched off for a minute or two?

We sometimes find similar with the outside temp readout on one of the P38s in that it can read 0* for a mile or two after start up then slowly climb back up to whatever the outside temp is (when it actually is above zero!) As long as it gives a proper(ish) reading then it's best left to suit itself.

Could be a faulty fuel guage on yours too but again if it settles, I'd be tempted to leave it.

Just bin out to test It Hippo ... WORKIN FINE!!!!.... Jees I HATE GREMLINS!!!!

Mine does that regular enough if I park on a slope or even sometimes drive up a steep slope. I've seen it go from a half tank to fuel light on and back again while off road.

Thanks Guys .... Gotts go into Manc-Land today so I'll monitor the situation & Let you know tonite

Hope your taking your passport and bullet proof vest. Think fuel gauges on Range Rovers tend to mirror the activities of the previous owners. Mine is ok if you fill it until it gets one point above half then drops like a stone to one point below half. That must be the worn part of the gauge as the tight bastard who had it before me never filled it much past half.

Ok Guys I survived my trip into Manc Land............ My gauge is working fine with no signs of its Bad behaviour.

My journey took me along Deansgate.. (VERY Central Manc-Land) I see my favourite Pub/bar is still there.. ( "the Moon under water" ) & so is Waterstones & Kendals + Starbucks!!!

The road however is STILL full of Women "Drivin while window shopping" 10MPH in her Audi R8 & then parks up on a "Chevron" area......

Came back down 20 mins later to see this Blond flingin her arms up in dis-belief at the FOOKIN BIG CLAMP she had on her OS Drivin wheel..

I just wound down the window , pointed & shouted ... "CALM DOWN DEAR IT's ONLY A COMMERCIAL!!!" .......to which she replied ..... **** OFF FAT BASTARD!!!!..... To which I was only too happy to oblige ( Whilst me & this Bus driver ****ed ourselves laughin at her !!!!)

Don't yer just LOVE it when some fur coat & No knickers TART gets what coming to her !!!!!!! I can hear her now ...... "Oh Daddy Daddy some nasty uncooth person has put a BIG YELLOW thing on your little princesses car"
