Having done the Vogue SE 3.9 thread here: https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/another-classic-being-brought-back.269600/

I might as well do one on the Suffix A and CSK i'm doing side by side..

With the Suffix A, now the transmission tunnel is out the sills are both only supported by the chassis outriggers, new inner and out sills are on order. The CSK has faired a lot better internally, well it is 20 years younger.. The main areas on the CSK are all outer panels. Sills, front inner wings A and B Pillars and rear crossmember.. Once the rear crossmember and sills are done, there's only some minor patching specifically the offside rear wheel well seat belt mounting point, then the interior can start going back in. Working Back to front on that one.

The Suffix A is pretty much in bits. Once the sills, rear crossmember and Aand B pillars are done the body can come off, to attack the chassis and running gear..

plenty to keep you out of mischief,:)

Isn't that the truth !!

The CSK needs a bucket load of cleaning.. I can see myself getting a crawler board, a few disposable coveralls from screwfix and wirebrushes for the drills.. then underneath.. Joy! then it's running gear, brakes, axles.

The A is basically needing a ground up restoration

I have a full chassis in excellent condition to use for donor sections.. I want to keep the orginal chassis engine and gearbox numbers. so it's all matching up. I'd have to strip and rebuild any used engine. What i'll do with the chassis is have my welders cut the rear legs off the old one and well in the rear section from the replacement. Use the replacement section to mount the engine and gearbox on while the old chassis gets stripped and dipped. then if anyone wants a chassis for a project, they can have it (i got the V5 with the chassis.. it was a 1992)

Make sure the chassis is properly plated where the join will be.

Seeing as you're the guru on engine rebuilds Ant.. when i pull the suffix A engine to rebuild you're welcome to lend a hand and be in the presence of the CSK. I may even let you sit in it and make engine noises..

Meanwhile, a little bit of rain today.. the moisture in the air seems to have dissolved some of the A

Joking aside, while the outer sills were like swiss cheese, the inner sills were solid. Just need a rub back and repainting.. if anyone wants a pair of inner sills, free to whomever wants them.

Ordered up the rear crossmembers for both, the footwells.

YRM are on a jolly to a trade show so the A and B pillers will have to wait till next week.

Pulled the master cylinder, clutch servo and pedal box on the suffix A today. Stripped some excess aftermarket wriring from the CSK.

Looks like i may replace the offside rear wheel arch on teh CSK rather than patch it..
