Howdy,

I was a bit of a div and pulled onto the grass at the side of the road to deal with someone who kept trying to phone me. As I was slowing down I knew I was already going to get stuck. Before I was able to do anything I came to an abrupt halt. My RR is now stuck axle deep.

I've phoned the AA who are going to send a normal patrol man who will give it a punt, but he didn't sound sure he could get me out without sending for a crane. Is there someone out this way (vehicle is stuck on Hurrell Lane in Thorten-Le-Dale, east of Pickering, North Yorkshire) who could possible assist in unsticking a moron if the AA man can't?

Regards,
Jordan

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

The AA sent a local recovery firm who happened to have a flatbed with a meaty winch on it. It took some doing but he got me free.

Thanks chaps.

I never thought to get any while stuck. All I have is after I got home. I really haven't got the hang of this whole camera everywhere business. In first light I'll get some piccies of the RR and go back to the scene to show the damage.

Yes, they are road tyres, I wasn't intending on going on an offroad adventure. Especially not through boggy ground.

I got a daylight pick of the vehicle, went to the stuck spot and I could see a farmer parked near the hole looking very ****ed off, so I bolted. Will try again on my way home.

Though tbh, it serves him right, I asked at many houses in the area if anyone knew someone with a tractor and all I got was "sorry, we can't help you." Which is a ****e attitude.

And for lulz, my once beautifully polished boots are now looking a bit worse for wear.
