Just spoke to my brother in law and he said he has a weird thing happening on his D3. It feels like it has a misfire or slight hesitation at 70 in top gear. It doesn't do it at the same rev range in a lower gear. He has just had a filter and oil change done on the auto box and reckoned the garage used a genuine 2 piece filter.

Any ideas or pointers worth looking at?

Cheers Rob

hi Rob

could be many things , but a code reader will indeed be the best course of action

wonder if they’ve not plugged / fitted something back in correctly , ie MAF, intercooler house , MAP , or a sensor , incorrect fitment of fuel filter , allowing air to be drawn in , incorrect ATF oil in the the gearbox, not reset the adaptive settings

have a look first under the bonnet for any unplugged connectors

1)wonder if they’ve used the correct autobox oil
2) not reset the gearbox, adaptive settings after the oil cha be

failing that get it plugged in

assume it was ok before the oil was done ,

If the vibes happen after a mile or so on steady cruise, knock is out of cruise drop to 55/60 until vibes stop back up to 70 and see if it does it again let us know.

Mannol AG55 oil works well in the gearbox
