strange problem with valve 7

been having issues with smoke so have been playing with pump timing fuel lines etc but never seems to change the smoke so today i thought i would check valve clearances all seem to be fine until got no7 and it just doesn't move turn engine over several times and nothing all the rest are going up and down ! no7 no movment at all ????????????

just been back out and started it with rocker cover off and it doesn't move at all , luckily it is shut so hopefully no damage has been caused can i remove just that push rod ?

Yes. Follower may be broke,.head off to repair that.

to remove the push rod can i just undo the rocker and push it to one side ?

Remove the whole shaft (6 bolts?)
Keep the shaft assembled as you remove it, watch out for the valve end caps, don't lose them.
