Sticky Power Steering

Hi all, every now and then the power steering sticks on my 110 CSW. It happens on the move and only sticks for a split second – and then with the continued turn of the steering wheel, returns to normal. Is this a common problem?... Should I be heading for the cheque book? Thanks.

Sticky or lumpy? A quick spray of WD40 onto the steering column UJs can help with lumptness.

Well, it's smooth 90% of the time, but then almost feels like it catches on something and then gets past it... I'll give the WD40 a go though! Thanks.

Bear in mind that it is only a temporary fix and if it does work but the problem returns then you should consider new column UJs.

had the same with mine, turned out to be badly worn drop arm ball joint. LEE
