Steering wheel cancel pegs?

Hi gents, new to the forum and a new owner of a fantastic 90 V8 soft top. It had a Momo wheel with 36 spline adaptor and I replaced it with a LR one. On the Momo adaptor there's 2 pegs for indicator cancel, on the LR it looks like there should be a plate with pegs that would engage the blue ring. Questions are what is this plate called and where could I find one?

Ahhh... the indicator cancelling peg plate!!

Most often found just behind the steering wheel :)

The 2 spoke wheels (tdi onwards) I know for a fact have them attached to the wheel, and I cant imagine they would be removable. Not sure on the older 4 spoke wheel but doubt they would be different.

Pic of your wheel might help .. Is is definitely a LR one?

As an aside, stick an into in the intros section, tis good form to be polite before asking for help :)

The two spoke ones have a metal ring on the back that slides over the back of the central column so it is a separate part.
I sold one recently and removed the ring so I could fit it to a TD5 steering wheel I was putting on my TDI. They are out there and you might be best tracking down a rough 36 spline steering wheel with one fitted

If they are supposed to separate, then how do you fix them on? Surely if they are a loose fit, then they wouldn't turn with the steering wheel??

All three 2 spokes I have had have been fixed solid to the back of the wheel.

It fits around the column on a tight taper. I bought my TD5 steering wheel from Bankz5152 on here and he had removed the metal cancel ring so I just removed mine before selling the 2 spoke on. As I recall it didn't seem obvious that it was a separate part and it took some effort to get it off....but off it came!!

Sorry for the late reply have been traveling and thank you! It's a "C" wheel, the airbag one without the airbag and there are two threaded holes at 12/6 to the 36 spline hole. There must be a "plate" that fits onto the wheel that engages the blue collar.

BenNe, I will post an intro thank you for the guidance.

The indicator cancel ring is made of spring steel of some sort that clamps around the steering wheel boss. I removed it using a pair of circlip pliers and then fitted to new wheel in reverse. :)

All fixed, another Land Rover journey just to to find the part. Blue collar with the triangle pointing to the passenger and good to go.

Changing the washer jets will turn any man into a gymnast also! Might head to a yoga class fate that feat......

All I need is a lamp holder for the clock, proving more difficult that turning lead into gold..

Good to see this sorted - reminds me to get my s/wheel off to check the cancelling ring and pegs. It cancels a right indicator as you turn right (rather then as you straighten up after the turn...) - sends me nuts on roundabouts as you have to put indicators back on half way round....

Must be the pegs or ring out of sync somehow...? Not least, intrigued by the 'blue ring triangle facing passenger' - will look for that.

Washer jets I agree - read all the 'through the ashtray' stuff - and gave up and took the dash off in the end......! Cheers, A

The key is the cancel pegs are at 12 and 6 and engage the slots on the blue collar. There's a pointer (triangle) on the the collar and need to point t the passenger.

My 90 had the old style dual washer jets, one on either side so had to do the dash removal and replace with the style. Was a breeze do and much better now.
Fixed a few snags along the way and cleaned up some PO handymanship,

Now that's my level of idiot-proof! Good man - will see what I find when I get a spare half hour in the next month or 6.... Cheers, A

Thanks for this. My indicators don't cancel properly either. Left cancels before turning, and right not at all.
And instead of saying arrow to point at passenger, maybe saying that it should point at the indicator stalk is more appropriate? :)

Anyhoo, thanks!

Fortunately that's the direction my passenger usually sits too, so avoided any confusion......;) A

I wondered about this when I bought a replacement steering wheel and after reading this thread I removed the cancel lug ring from the original 2-spoke with ease. However, there's no place for it to go on the new steering wheel and boss...

My wheel is a Mota Lita from Mudstuff and the supplied Boss accepts indicator cancel ring.

Hey all. I was wondering if I could have a hand with a similar issue.

I have just removed a wheel which has the collar which is listed in this feed. However the wheel (genuine landy) is not the same way. I have enclosed an image. Because of this the collar as far as I can see won’t work.

Any Idea??
