Hi all.
I have a strange problem with my Disco 300 TDi. I get pity serious steering vibration when accelerating but not when just rolling. Does any of you know a common cause for this.
Wheels are balanced and the tracking has recently been done.
Cheers....... Keith.

Hi Keith, it's very likely to be associated with the propshafts.

First thing to check is the current condition of the rubber "doughnut" coupler at the rear end of the rear propshaft. If it looks in any way worn replace immediately !!! It is know to break up and then the rear prop is thrashing the underneath of the car - not a good thing at all.

Replacements can be bought off Ebay for between £14 for an aftermarket one to about £28 for a genuine one.

If the doughnut is ok, check all the u/j's on both props for wear and lack of greaseing.

check the steering damper. and i have had simular results from a loose panard rod. check that its bolted up tight.
