Picking a Rebel Steering guard up for me 300tdi Disco on Friday, will be fitting it over the weekend.
I would like to trim the front bumper while im on.

Any advice for cutting it?... remove from the car and modify or leave in situe?

Jigsaw or anything else?...

When i done mine i left it on. The lower bumper with the fogs was bolted to the main bumper so i undone these and as for the corner bit if you follow the bottom line with and angle grinder or jigsaw it will be in line with the metal bumper and look tidy!

take the bumper off, remove ALL the plastic bits from the bumper, and put the metal bar back on. no need for cutting, less stuff to get damaged, and passes an MOT no problem :D

Prefer mine .. lower front plastic off, end caps trimmed, centre plastic trimmed so Hi-Lift can get in to holes in steering guard.

i took off all the plastic but the endcaps i cut them, my bumper is a bit bent tho

Yes I remember hearing that PC Plod didnt like that sharpy pointy bits!

I like the look of Paul D's modified bumper, I will have a go at that style I think.

Paul did you remove it of cut it on the car?

Bumper was already off the vehicle, I used to have a tubular bumper ...

... which was fine for off-roading and Pay 'n Play days, but I didn't like it for green-laning .. Wanted to look a little less aggressive to the bobblies etc .. ;)

Much easier to cut the endcaps and take the centre plastic off when the bumper is off .. ;)

Reason I ask is I have spot fitted directly to the front bumper which wher a right bitch to fit due to space so I can help it I dont want to remove em, lazy I know.

Went ages ago .. ;)

End caps are easy to cut down, new Stanley Knife blade is good .. Centre valance bit just screws onto bumper, mostly with rusty screws that won't screw out, but can be cut off with tin snips.

I removed the lower valance/spoiler from fixed bumper with endcaps still attached,as very rusty screws joining them .Managed to saw off the upper bit of endcaps while still attached to it ! Had to take the bullbar off to do it and now looks much better,I forgot how heavy the bullbar was ,about the same as a small person sat on the front end, seems higher now too.! Useless bullbars anyway when a big bollocked brown bastard bull decides to rub its head on my back wing

hahaha the bull incident sounds interesting!

Thanks guys I will have a pop by removing as much as i can and cutting the rest off :)
