Hello,
steering fluid is low and dark, so instead of topping it up I'm going to flush and refill, to do so I have a couple of questions...

is this right?

will 1ltr be enough?

thanks in advance, greetings from the sunny Algarve

0.34 litres capacity after draining - according to Haynes :)

Cannot see a proceedure for changing the fluid other than as in a pump change where the system is drained from the pump, refilled then bled.

that is only for the reservoir, I meant for the entire system...

this is how I'll do it:
1- front wheels straight forward on axle stands;
2- empty the reservoir from top with a syringe;
3- remove return hose and connect it to a clear drain hose and disposal container, plug inlet pipe so it doesn't spill as reservoir is filled;
4- fill reservoir;
5- start engine and turn steering wheel from right lock to left lock and back again (never run engine for more then 10 seconds);
6- stop engine;

repeat steps 4 to 6 until you can see fresh fluid coming out through clear drain hose

7- point wheels forward and remove from axle stands;
8- reconnect return hose to inlet pipe;
9- top-up, recap reservoir;
check for leaks and top-up if necessary on next few runs/days.

should work but not sure if 1ltr of DIII is enough, lots of pipes and hoses...

You'll need more than 1litre but less than 2. It's a pretty easy job. Disconnect the pipes at the cooler and allow the fluid to drain. Once empty reconnect the pipe and refill the system from the reservoir. Start the engine turn the steering lock to lock keeping an eye on the fluid level topping up if necessary. I generally repeat the process twice to make sure all the fluid has been renewed.

it's done, the whole system takes about 1,5ltr and this was the setup

the only correction to the "method" is:
-never run engine for more than 3 seconds
