Hello all! Quick question, looks like I've smacked my steering damper quite well last weekend and bent it, luckily steering rods are straight! any recommendations on a new one?
Friend had a terrifirma fitted to his 90 and after a year it started to leak and failed MOT.

Discovery 1 300 tdi
Also what's it do? Help stop the heavy car rolling around too much?

Thanks all for any input

Any bog standard damper will do, as I expect u will be removing your damaged one soon just drive a few miles and you will see what is does when u hit bumps and potholes. Anti roll bars stop then car rolling around to much.

Thanks discool, was in my shed earlier and found the one I took off a old disco a while back, forgot I had it  looks in good nik so I'll be putting that on tomorrow, thanks :)

New well old but new to that disco :p damper is on, how tight do you thinks it should be? I've tightened it so it's pushing on the bushes but not squishing them too much, and the two nuts are locked together :) sound ok?

Sounds fine ... it's not like it's doing a hefty shock absorber job is it ... :D
