got the s1 out of the garage this morning where it had been hiding for the winter.

went in sometime in November iirc, bit of choke and she burst into life.

the joy of having no background electrics, nearly 4 months and the battery was still more than strong enough for a start.

Amen to that. :)

Makes a difference being stored dry in a garage too as well as your superb first class maintenance .

A local Garage owner said to me upon looking in the Engine bay of my
Morris minor van....
How did these ever run?
He should have been with you when yours started....
First time....and after Months of storage!
Its simplicity!!
would have answered his question

it was mainly how you can leave it for a few months and the battery is still almost full that is pleasing, doubt our modern cars could go more than a couple of weeks because of all the electrickery on them as you say its the simplicity, when its turned off it is turned off.

obviously it wouldn't be like that forever and the battery on it is only around 3 or 4 years old but it is nice to know it can still has power after that length of time, if I left my chevy for 3 or 4 weeks I would most likely need the jump starter to fire it
