My series 2 142800016 was the first series 2 to test the new production line. It came off the assembly line on March 3 1958 ,3 weeks before series 1 production stopped on March 24 1958.

She has all the original running gear and is unrestored and that is how she is staying.

If you have the proof then its worth a few bob more.
Sounds like your into preservation rather than restoration, I'd go as far as putting another sidelight lens on.

I have just managed to find another lens for the side light since the photo but they are like hens teeth because they are a sparto lens No 5835.

Looks better with the Sparto side lights fitted. They are very hard to get.

Here are some pics of the Chassis and Bulkhead. No structural rust at all.

I wipe WD40 on the Chassis to preserve.

I take her for a drive every couple of weeks to keep the Lubrication up.

No it has never been in a Museum. People tell me it should be in a museum as it is, in its the original unrestored condition as a reference vehicle as it is the only one from early March 1958.

Eventually it will probably end up in a collection or museum but at the moment I will hold on to her and go for the odd drive.

I am really a series one fan because of there primitive look and design so the old 2 just sits there most of the time.

yeah i agree very primative, i wouldnt want to own one myself but maybe my taste is a bit off lol...... one thing is for sure you have a real beauty there and it would be well looked after in a museum and can only go up in price.....
