Hi all,

I have a 2006 L322 3.0 diesel. The SRS light is permanently on and I've read this is probably due to poor connections in the wiring system.

After searching on the net it seems to point to the yellow connectors under the seats, but I can't see these on my vehicle. I've also looked in the sill track and no sign of the SRS loom there either.

Had anybody else had problems finding these wires?

You could do with a diagnostic test to poi t you in the right direction. There are a few sensors connected to this system and it may not be the wiring but a sensor itself. ;)

Thanks for replying. I've got the icarsoft diagnostic tool and it's telling me there's a fault with the drivers final firing circuit. Reading up on this it could be a bad connection anywhere in the loop. Various sources say to check the yellow connectors under the seat, but I can see them on my l322.

have à look at this. Down to the 4.48 section. Not being familiar with your model this may help with wire colours at least. Is there a black box under the seat by any chance?

Cheers Mark, appreciate your help. There are lots of connectors under the seat, but they all seem to be for the power seats. I think the SRS module is located under the centre console, so I might have to start there and trace the loom from there.

I'll film it so I can share with others that have the same issue.

My Freelander 1 2004 SRS lights on the garage tested with the computer and said the problem under the seat but he has no time to check but using the equipment he erased the fault temporarily but it came back after few weeks. I am trying to find is there any seat belt connections SRS picks up? or where exactly to see any broken cables please. Thanks a lot

I've à client who had a similar problem with the little yellow plugs under the seats. They cut off and the wires soldered together. Please make sure the battery has been disconnected for at least twenty minutes before disconnecting these plugs. ;)

Thank you Mark I going to try this weekend before the MOT. One further question there are lots of fault testing gears available what's the cheapest will erase SRS faults. The garage says one they have is £2000. Icarsoft products available in eBay. Any specific model suits Freelander testing please Thank you

Your welcome.
Good question, I honestly don't know for fl1, I have an autel mx808 in my garage but that is a generic diag suite for 95% of my clients vehicles. Except p38's and early l322's. I've heard Hawkeye from allmakes, brit part and bearmach is pretty good but I could personally vouch for this.
Take a look in the freelander section and pose the question there, I'm pretty sure you'll get the exact info you need. ;)
Good luck with your mot
