sorry for asking a dim question

if the srs light is showing does it disable the abs system please

thks again

Hi Stuart, As Fery said as they are different systems but check under the seats to make sure the seat belt retention plugs are conneted.
HTH,
Griff

well after plugging everything back in i still have the srs light on

wondering where to go from here

wonder if

broken wire somewhere

faulty impact sensor

clock spring

just don't know what to do , in how i know the airbags i've fitted are sound, got them from a reputable breakers

wondering if i may have to take the 2 x curtain airbags out, seat airbag , impact sensors and get them sent away , it can see some serious money here

Have you cleared all codes? Is it a new or old code?

yes cleared all the codes , also with the diagnostics i reset the srs ecu to normal service condition

am abit lost , can see me checking every wire in the loom

thought i would put up the old and new codes

looking at them , 2 x have gone, being me replacing the curtain airbags

so left with one

got the 3 x impact sensors
steering wheel air bag
clock spring

have a spare seat air bag so going to disconnect the battery , wait then plug it into the seat connector plug, to eliminate the seat air bag

know it's on the drivers side , think i've got to step back and try and rethink this

if anyone may know would be over the moon please ,

thks in advance

Anything else not work ? ie horn

Rare for the airbag to throw up issues

thks ,

horn works fine

wondering if the impact sensors can fail ,

have got a spare seat airbag so wondering about plugging that in

just driving me nuts and running out of time before the mot expires

just don't know really where to go next

wish i could put it into a garage but can't afford it

Ye, IMO the airbag module is at fault

thks

know it's a nightmare to get the srs ecu out

the diagnostics i've got resets it to service condition, but know some need to be cleared by a specialist company

heard that u have to replace them at a cost over around £400 quid

learnt a lot about the srs system,

wonder if i will have to get a specialist airbag company in, trouble is it may go into a lot of money

main goal would be just to find out what the fault is, then go from there if it's an expensive part

keep wondering about the impact sensors, if they actually fail etc

thks again

one thought

is there such a thing as an airbag tester please

so i could plug them in to test they are 100%

next port of call i think is the clock spring

Try with this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LANDROVER...S-0-25W-2-AMP-FUSED-FAULT-LIGHT-/261532676291 if the light goes away with it you know it's the airbag at fault

brilliant, thks for that

going to test my clock spring and impact sensors tomorrow, also swap over the seat airbag

just in case they fitted a new steering wheel airbag without replacing the clock spring

if the fault is still there will order some of these,

nothing like a challenge , lol

thks again

Don't mess with multimeter in the air bag's plug cos it sends voltage for continuity and it's dangerous... it should have a shorting pin in the plug exactly to avoid that

sorry my fault, only tested the clock spring, wouldn't dare use a multimeter on the steering wheel airbag

looking at this pic, i put the leads in each connector and got continuity across them

also got continuity from one plug to the other

made sure i removed the clock spring and tested it on the kitchen work top so it was disconnected from the landy
