Missus asked me what I wanted for Christmas.

Silly girl.

Found this as an mot failure.

Took it into the workshop to see how bad it was.
Pretty bad, was the answer!

Should have looked like this!

After a week and a half of welding there were nice new sills in.

Put her in for mot and she failed😞.
But only on; Horn not working, passenger door not opening from the outside, wiper blades being shagged and battery insecure.
An hours work in the morning.

Would be interesting to see how many Landys Discovery or otherwise are still on the uk roads pre 2005 just to include the actual landys not the D3 D4 and most of the L322s. and compare it to the number actually sold to see what the rate of decline is...

Ive yet to see a P38 that has any rust on it mine certainly doesnt. A freind recently had his P38 MOT'd and the tester couldnt belive how rust free it was. The underside still had the build date stickers on it!

Great work mate! Who-ever thought of putting those plastic covers over the sills needs a swift boot in the knackers. I thought mine were bad but think yours win hands down, there's nothing left!

Good work there, the sills can be daunting as can a lot of the other welding works, but looks like you did a good job there :D

I just patched mine for the safety test as the plan for me is sill tanks for compressed air in the form of 3.6mm rectagonal box section.

What other plans you got for it?

TBF it wasn't a difficult job, just time consuming.
I worked out that without the cutting and cleaning there was about 20 hours actual welding involved...

I've a load of Discovery bits in my garage, so once the shooting season is finished, she'll get a 2" lift and all the other bits...

She's currently sat on the drive covered in mud and full of dog hair!

Bloody landrovers!

Windscreen was leaking meaning every time it rained I got a wet arse.
Solved that with judicious use of silicon!

Bought some cheap mud tyres off of a bloke on Facebook.
Thought they looked a little large.
Went to get them fitted, and they wouldn't even fit in the arches!

Went home and measured them, and they're bloody 33's!

Went to do a quick job, and heard a clanking from the back end.
Had a look and the exhaust was hanging off.

Anyone know if the tyres will fit with a 2" lift?

Yep, 235/85 are close on 32 1/2 inch tall and mine fitted in on std springs on the D1 200Tdi.

Don't worry, Land Rovers were sent from heaven to drive us insane.
