On way back from clacton, we got our first decent blizzard in the landy :D pootling along the A120 cars were getting a bit skittish with the back end flipping out a bit but the disco impressed me with it's sure-footedness :):)

There was not much traffic and I managed to test her out on some small roundabouts as I wanted to know what happens when she does slip, answer was not a lot really, it just tended to go in a straight line, no tail whip etc and easily correctable, I love this motor

All on well worn mixed road tyres. We did over 120 miles all in and I'm getting at least 30mpg, can't be bad. I might treat her to some new tyres this year ;)

Just incase anyone thinks so, no we were not doing silly speeds and showing off, the Tarmac was still just about visible in the wheel tracks and everyone was way down on the speed, still had the idiots with fog lights on and even a few with no lights on!

Was on the A120 heading to the M11 this afternoon and some idiot was holding up the flow of traffic by doing 25 in the outside lane.

I eventually had to undertake him and his enterage and carry on the empty road at 50 mph.

Where do these dickheads come from. I did not mind the speed but both lanes were the same with a clear Tarmac track visible and it was daylight so he had no excuse.

I think some people just panic, drive way too slow which causes others to pass and that's where the accidents start. They should keep to the nearside, we passed a couple that were doing 15! With clearly visible tarmac ahead.

I like testing driving conditions as it's the only way to learn how to handle it properly and safely, those that stay at home should not venture out into it.

I'll be taking her out again today, it's frozen up now so I might try me diff lock and so on, probably need low box to get out of the cul de sac too.:)

Diff lock and low range don't make me laugh. Unless you have 2 foot of the stuff. I pulled a big heavy salon up a very steep hill yesterday and it was spinning a bit so I used diff lock but you should only use it if it's nesserry

Yes maybe but if you don't try it when you get the chance, how do you learn what the difference is so you can use it when really needed??

Anyway we had a good 6" of snow on ice, the Mondeo would have just shat itself trying to climb out of that, stuck the disco in low reverse, clutch up and off she went, did not even notice the snow, easy steering too.

we've just got back from visiting our local garden centre for some spare bulbs for the deccys, this time I took the country lanes, 8 miles of nice dodgy roads and no grit:) she walked it without breaking sweat, reasonable speed too. There is a steep hill with a right hand bend halfway up on the way back, 2nd gear and up she went, nice and easy.

I'm impressed with this motor, also got loads of landywaves too, everyones got there landy out today :)

I'm stuck in dry sunny Leicester having a Christmas get together with the inlaws.

I am always away when it snows in Essex.

I'll bet it's melted when I get home later. :(

Currently +1c but I don't think it will get much higher now, probably freeze p lovely tonight.

Got to go to work in the morning then back home to pick the wife up then we have a funeral to attend, going to be a long day tomorrow I think.

Not snow on this one but i know the windsreen company has got a car going to it later, as I went past it the Dork of an owner was deicing it with water from kettle, I know it was kettle as he was pouring on as i went past what a dork

I've seen a screen go through hot water shock, not mine but a neighbour, some people just don't think.

On a lighter note, the garden centre we went to has an ice rink in the winter, it was packed and we stood there watching for a while, it nice to see so many people just out having fun in these gloom and doom times, people just look so miserable on the streets sometimes and I find that depressing, you only have one life and it should be enjoyed wherever possible. The funeral we are at tomorrow is of my wifes nephew, only young, had testicular cancer and fought it for four years, he leaves a wife and two kids, very sad.
