The compressor is has got a bit noisy the last couple of days. Linked to this the two related amber warning lights, Hill Descent (bottom left of binnacle) and Off Road Mode (top right of binnacle) are on and off occasionally. It takes ages to raise the air springs to off road height. So, my guess is compressor is gubbed, or needs new seals. I've ordered a seal kit, but wondered if anyone had experience of this that could give feedback ?? Also the battery seems to be knackered or has a drain on it somewhere. Is this coincidence or linked to issues described above? Cheers in advance.

How's the Ride Height Sensors?
If they are gubbed, they may be keeping the comp running

Will also happen if you have a slight air leak in pipework or bags.

Does it sit OK overnight without dropping? your compressor may be knackered but if it is not the root cause you are just going to have the problem repeat itself.

Ref battery, best to complete a drain test.

Cheers

Thanks all for replies and offer of block Bigeeee. The wife managed to get a jump  and get it home. I just checked the battery and its showing 9.6v when running. Alternator !! I have the seal kit coming and will do that at the weekend. Won't do any harm. It doesn't sag overnight and height sensors were both renewed in the summer. We have a place near that does reconed alternators or might replace with new.

replace the alternator first cos when you'll get good charging the compressor mught behave itself better
Will do. Even if I don't use the kit now, I might need it in the future so no harm done. Not had a good day. The wife was driving a Saab I have just bought and taking the kids to school. She caught the front bumper on a kerb and ripped one side of it off. Drove it home and swapped that for the Disco. Then broke down in that.

Buy her a pushbike.
Probably crash that into something and cost me a fortune anyway in compensation. To be fare, it's not her fault the Disco alternator chucked it, but raging about the Saab. Could happen to the best of us I suppose :(
