Sills, 5 door complete replacement price???

Hi to all

Got the old MOT comming up (1995 5 door 300tdi) so I crawled under the old gal, and to sum it up, sills are fuu-barred

priced them up on paddocks inner & outer @ £129 (inc VAT) for each side and quoted £330 for the welding work.

Now does this seem steaper than a everest climb or is it reasonable??

Scanned through all the threads on here to do with box section ect but mine are so far gone that there isnt anything to weld box section to

would like to gather your views/advice

If your sills are as bad as that then the chances are there will be lots of other rot, elsewhere on the body, ie. wheel arches. Put the vehicle in for a pre-mot check and they will advise if there are other structural problems. Can you imagine how you will feel if you get the sills done, only to find more needs done? Price sounds about right but have you not got any contacts with a grinder and a Mig?
