hello
in the near future i am plannin on doin my landy up no mods yet...

i mentioned about getting a snorkle and a friend said that it is only for show ... etc but he also said if you are goin to get one you may want to put a side exhaust or make it higher???

but he also said if you did this i wouldnt be able to use this on the road as it isnt legal ????????? that true ???? as my landy is my everyday car ?

cheers anthony

p.s
is there anything else i could do with the exhaust to make it higher ..tips, but still legal.

get a bath full of water.

stick your friends head in there and tell him to breathe...then ask if he needs a snorkel or not.

just for show...

yr friends obviously a tw@t and knows feckall about landrovers

a snorkel is essential if you want to do wading or preserve yr engine when goin into water.

my exhaust on me 90 exits as high as i could get it and has no boxes in it,and passed an mot

so yr friend is talkin bolllixx

this is where my exhaust exits on my 90 u can see its previous position below the chequer plate

i got a snorkel even on the v8 and i dont really do waiding, just incase the muddy water i drive into is a bit deeper than anticipated

Yeah they only really care if the exhaust is leaking or too loud, not how high it is or if it comes out the side.
Would be a fun project trying to get a truck style exhaust coming up one of the side window pillars....

mine comes out the side no boxes an is very loud get some strange looks while im driving down the road

hi brock if the exsaust being to high was am mot faileure why do old lorries have stacks, the only reason lorrys dont have stacks now that i know of is cost.

cheaper if they dont have to go as far

cheers for the replies guys and i will let him now....

i wanted a snorkle so saving up...

but i have seen disco with to like snorkles ob 1 is goin to be exhaust and air intake ??

this pic is me getting towed out of a hole...

the exhaust was standard when this happened, as long as the engine is runing, the water wont get in the exhaust.

If you are thinking about wading, you'll also better get a full wading kit. (extended axle breathers, gearbox, transfer box breathers and wading plugs for timing belt cover and gearbox, or breathers for these 2..)
