Hi again guys

Just wondering about side vents what do you lot do when washing the vehicle as im of the understanding one of the side vents are sealed and the other is a real open vent.
I use my own jet wash to clean my range rover but dont want water running into the vent. Thanks guys

2008 RRS 2.7 hse i chanhed the vents and i could see one of them was blanked but the other side looks like its open and used as a vent if that makes sense. Last thing i want is water running into it
Thanks

Hi @Nightsman32

funny enough on my D3 , only have one wing vent, which is on the drivers side , if u lift the bonnet u should see ur air filter on the LH side as u look at the engine , so that vent is the engines air intake so indeed make sure u stay well away from it

also if I may add, don’t be tempted to power wash or use a foam Lance in the engine bay

there are many ECUs scattered throughout the vehicle which don’t like high pressured water

hope that helps

Hi mate was hoping you would be along you never fail to answer my questions and help.me out

I spend alot of time washing my vehicles i have 2 others apart from my RRS as iv recently changed the vents to more newer looking ones i seen one was blocked off and one wasnt so know i know for sure its the air intake il make sure its covered uo when i get the pressure washer on it so no water to get in also iv never jetwashed any if my engine bays on any of my.vehicles i think it does more harm than good.

hiya

ur always so welcome :D

On the Air inlet the rubber connecting tube has got drainage holes in the bottom, same if u remove the air filter and look at the bottom ur see like a rubber non return valve that allows water to drain out but helps reduce water ingress

indeed, with so much electronics these days it’s just not worth it with the extreme pressure that as of course you’ll also understand where the damage is done

plus I also stay well away from flood water

Few pic of mine , also debadged it ;)
