Hey guys.

First post

Looking to buy a RRS 2006 2.7 hse full service for 5k. Seems like a great deal.

I'm just wondering what's everyone's thoughts.

Also I'd like to fit some after market DVD headrests.

I've seen lots of install videos but they never show how to hardwire both screens to each other and then to the fuse box or power point. Anyone have any advice on this.

Cant wait to fully join the club. Always wanted a range

Steve

If its the TDV6 take a look in the "engines" section of the forum and make your own mind up. They have some BIG issues.

Define 'service'?
When working correctly they are a luxurious vehicle. Lovely interior and beautiful to drive. Ideally you'd want one that the timing/vanos has been serviced already, there are no damp patches in footwell, no gearbox issues and drives straight like a train with no wobbling.
For the electrics a copy of RAVE and probably an auto-electricians degree will get you started.
They are not for the faint hearted but can well be worth it. The choice is yours...

Sounds nice, any chance of a pic?:)
Before you buy consider this, if you add up all the figures on the tump of receipts it will give you a good indication how much it costs to keep the vehicle in it's current state. The next lot may have your name on them ;)
Either way, welcome to the nut house :D

Don't forget the next lot will just keep getting more expensive, as this is now a 13 year old car and only getting older. Although I don't think the little sister is quite as bad as her big sister ;)

P.s @Stevefab13 I know the Sport is not quite a Full Fat but it's still a Range Rover. A range is what cowboys are home on, or people cook on ;)

Love that

At least now we know her name, but I'm not sure the pc types will like it tenor.gif
@Stevefab13 I was just having a thought, I know , dangerous ;) However, the RRS is more closely related to the D3 than the Full Fat. To that end I'm going to tag in @gstuart , our resident RRS to D3 interpreter. He is quite well versed in the things to look for. I think, but not sure, there may be a few threads, over in the Range Rover section about the Sport, too.

Addit: If you have not done so already, this is handy page to look at

Looked at all the mot's and all the service history. Seems like shes been well cared for and big sticking points have already been done. I'm not going into this blind. I'm well aware of the stigma

MoT and Service History only show part of the story. Check the receipts for work done, for evidence that the issues brought up have been done, and not just a friendly MoT station ;)
I'm a bit ocd, about these things, and I wouldn't say the same issues coming up, 4 years in a row , is well cared for. Especially as it's something insurance would take care of , for £75 or less.
If you know your way around these vehicles, go over her with a fine tooth comb. If not , get someone who does. Then buy and enjoy.
