Its been said ,boge are best ,but cant get them (rear ones) on island 4x4.Can get woodhead and terafirms which the later are gas ,.Now the Q is woodhead the same as boge ,or is terafirms better being gas an all .:)
 
Which RR ?

I have terrafirma on my D1, SWMBO has br*p*rt on hers .... hers has the nicer ride, and they were a lot cheaper.... "mine" are rusting away merrily*, and hers are many more years older and still got paint on :rolleyes:

(* or rather they were until Mr Bilt Hamber did what he does :p)

And both are gas ....
 
I like my s#$tpart cellular Dynamics. Sturdy and a middling ride. I brought them used about 4 years ago so there decent.
 
8 years or so ago the shocks started squeaking ,And be four i knew brit part was crap i bought them :eek: Now i took the lower nut off them on the front and they moved about 1/4 of an inch up n down with no resistance ,,so iv got new boge s fitted and new drop links on the front.The back is a bit bouncy ,but cant get boge rears ,so its woodhead which are like boge or terafirmas which are gas .. I fancy the gas as i tow a lot ,.But i do not want to upset my suspension and make it crap ;) So over to ewes ,as they say in wales :D:D:D:D:D
 
Mine had Terrafirmas on the back when I got it. Swapped them out as too harsh.

There are other outlets to Island 4x4. Eurocarparts can be surprising if you ring them. Then there's Paddock Spares, Famous Four, Rimmer Bros, LR Direct ... the list goes on.
 
Thanks all for the input,iv went with teras gas shocks, feels a lot tighter and stays flatter on roundabouts,going to shift a car wi the transporter,so hope it dose not start floating after half an hour o driving. Thats the test ,then off for a weeks fishing wi the caravan..:D:D(I know most people use a rod ) Any way the new shocks come with 4 metal washers to go round the rubber bits ,cant get 4 on so just put 2,one top one bottom ,once the rubber bits compress a bit ,might fit the rest :eek: all good now.....:) thanks again..

Don't know how much you paid for the shocks But you will be happy to know standard shocks would have had exactly the same result. There are only two washers, one at top one at bottom.

Yep very happy only a fiver or so more than the cheapest o cheep each:p.and they came wi 4 shaped washers on each,,I have fitted lots of shocks before,first time iv seen them wi 4 as well.............:p and its nicer to drive:D:D
