Apologies in advance if this has been discussed before !
I have a series petrol engine which came as part of a job lot, I've always assumed its a 2.25 Petrol, but is there a quick easy method to determine exactly what it is, and what year of manufacture it is ? I have read that both 2.25 and 2.5 share the same block casting numbers etc. The only thing I am sure of is that its a petrol. Any distinguishing casting numbers, casting stiffeners etc to identify it.
Any help would be appreciated.
I can post pictures up if required, but won't be able to get access to it for a couple of days
