Series just stopped?

Right, I was driving along and it just cut out and wont go again.

It was like the ignition had been turned off?

The other day it was spluttering and backfired?

Any suggestions on what it could be?

Condenser, Points?

I broke the points apart and the spark was a bit yellow and weak....

go for the condensor, the problem you had with backfire and missing is an indication of a faulty condensor, how far had you travelled before the misfire, about 3mile at a guess, plus you say you have a weak spark,

Will try a new Condensor this afternoon.

not sure wot price they are but for the sake of say £10 to£15 i would buy points,condensor, and rotor arm as spares you might not use them but you might just break down in the midle of no where.

had the same problem the other day mine cut out cus the butterfly spindle was stuck sounds simple but its worth a try
