series 3 gearbox rebuild and fit in the midlands?

Gearbox needs some work as it groans and makes funny noises in 3rd, which I knew when I bought it, and all the other gears are ok. Its a V8 88" (converted 20 years ago from original 2 1/4 petrol) and ideally want a 5 speed but the costs are prohibitive (£4.5-5k) so just want the box fully refurbed and refitted, with new clutch. I've spoke to a couple of LR/gearbox specialist locally and struggling to get under £2k or less than 2-3 months to fit me in. I'm near Redditch so anywhere within 30-40 miles would be ideal - any recommendations.

Be cheaper and more fun to drive it. It is driveable just no 3rd gear.

When Gear box went bang, I sent it to Jake Wright Land rovers on a pallet (£40) and £400 for full rebuild, Surely in a V8 you can pull away in 4th
