Series 3 109 chassis

Good evening, apologies' if I've posted in the wrong section I'm still quite new and working my way around.

I have just started restoring my 109 and the chassis is too far gone to keep so will need replacing, I was hoping it could be repaired but it can't.
What's the general opinion on Galv chassis good or bad.
The other option is steel and paint it black??
Any thoughts would help my decision.

Oh Good, I also think Galv but I have heard that people prefer the original look so just wanted to see what people thought..

It was finished 14 years ago.
You could spray it black which helps it look a little less attractive to tea leafs but galv will massively boost resale values too.
