Series 2a/3

Hi guys! im new to this land rover stuff so please could you anser a question for me. recently i have aquired a series 2a (1970) diesel (2.25). Some complete numpty has ripped the wiring out in the engine bay and im in the process of replacing it. Does anyone know if these vehicles were fitted with a pre-heat system for the glow plugs? the wiring diagram i have doesnt show any sort of relay for it. i have purchased from paddocks a new ignition swith. The engine has a alternator and not a dynamo if that helps. Many thanks

Yes they do, but they don't have a relay like a modern car, you have to hold the switch in the preheat position.
