To do self diagnostics. Bridge terminal 4 & 15. Now turn ignition to 2nd position. trouble codes Will display after short pause .each code repeated 3 times. First code 12 (start test) eml flashes once (signifies 1) pause then 2 flashes once (signifies 2) this repeated total 3 times. Then any codes are displayed in same format. 34 would be 3 flashes pause 4 flashes repeated total 3 times. End of test Will be code 12 again. When i have time Will write it up with ill codes qs well. Only works on diesel p38

I have all the flash codes if you want them:)

Didn't know we could do that. I have a flash code reader for my Volvo S70, would that work on my P38 diesel? A copy of the codes would be appreciated and don't mind paying a little something.

Pm me and I will send it thanks to datatek

Sound a little BMW'ish, if so you can do all sort of resets etc with paper clip:)

code list shared with many obdII compatible cars

Can't afford one at the moment :( and I would need to read up on them to find out what they can & cannot do

They will do everything you could possibly need to do. Problem with flash code test is that the fault will always be there unless it's cleared. So you don't know if the repairs carried out have cured the problem.
