Sediment trap seal?

Hello,

Since loosening the sediment trap plug on my TD4 Freelander to remove any collected water, it keeps leeking. I guess the seal, whatever it may be has perished. I'm guessing it's an O ring, but won't know for sure until I remove it.
Can anyone confirm what the seal is as I'd like to have a replacement ready when I remove the plug. I can't find the info anywhere.

Unfortunately I don't know if exactly same but mine on 300tdi has an o ring like an oil filter at top of the cup then no o ring at the bottom plug just a plastic screw that I snapped clean in half so can't drain via that! Go easy on it is what I'm saying.

Thanks for your reply, very helpful. Next question, if I remove the plug, will fuel keep coming out until the tank is empty or just until the sediment trap is empty.
Just wondering if I need to borrow someone else's finger to block the whole whilst I change the O rings.

Only the sedimenter should empty.
