Ok folks,

I have my beloved 90 truck cab with three seats across the front. Currently we have our 1 yr old in passenger seat and my wife in the middle. We also have a Ford C-max but hardly ever use it, we both love bumbling around in the landy.

The thing is, we are thinking about child number 2 so an extra seat WITH a three point belt is needed.

I am reluctant to sell my 90 as its a P reg 300 TDI with only 60k miles and solid all round.

What are my options?

Can I get a three point belt set up for the middle front seat? Are the forward facing seats in the rear any good? (If I manage to get roof and sides!)

What do you reckon?

Nice looking truck :)

Well, if you can get a roof and sides, the forward facing rear seats are definitely an option. I've fitted a pair recently, along with proper inertia-type seat belts. Both my kids are in child seats and these seem to be held firmly in place - I certainly wouldn't have considered driving anywhere with them in the back if I wasn't 100% sure they were secure.
One of the criticisms of the fold-down seats is that they don't "lock" into position - to counter this, I fitted a second seat belt mount through the floor at the front of the seats and then I use a ratchet strap around the seats and through this so that they can't possibly fold up on their own.

I read once where someone had bought a centre seat with headrest, and a 4-point harness, all from Exmoor Trim. Perhaps you could bolt the harness down to the existing seat belt anchors? try here

Though im sure I came across a website selling 3 point belts for the middle seats, cant remember who they were though.
