Spent the day cleaning the inside of my LR today. Took all the seats out... Though i would look at the seatbelt mounts.

Well... Turns out that around half of the bolts that hold the seatbelts in were rusty, and sheared off with mild spannering. Glad i found that out now before a crash...

Jus a thought though, how safe are your seatbelts?

I see what you are saying, but turning them will stress them quite differently to being pulled such as in the event of a crash.

These will be high tensile bolts, the higher the tensile strength the more likely they are to shear. So unless the bolt has rusted almost right through then it's going to be fine.

The weakest bit of the 90's seatbelts is the little metal pressing that is welded to the tubular outrigger. It will rust through to nothing before the bolt will.

On my old chassis this bit broke and was hanging by rust after someone pulled on the belt to hard!
