Hi all,

Does anyone know how and where to mount seat belts or harnesses to a 64 series 11a which has never had them fitted. in particular, can they be mounted to the body or do you have to use brackets fitted to the chassis:confused:

I'm pretty much sold on the idea of harnesses as the landy will have little on road use although there might be reason why this would not be the best plan:confused:

Greatful for any help:)

Thanks

Hello soundman 74,
In my hybrid I fitted harnesses using a length of substantial "Halfen Channel" along the top of the rear tub behind the seats coupled with M10 eye bolts (4 per harness) in conjunction with drilled washer plates.
In my current series 2 I've fitted inertia belts. Its a rag top so I fabricated a pair of "Inertia box posts" so as to bring the top ring of the belt (the one on a car door pillar) just above shoulder height and fitted them to the tub corners. they're made from 80 x 10 ms flat and 80 x 80 x 8 RSA with a 8mm fillet weld on the joint. Fasteners are M12.

Hopes this helps.

Regards WP.
