I just snapped up a used Freelander 2006 with not too many miles.
Im loving how it drives and am about to revamp the interior, and follow with exterior. An important steop is kicking out the old dead stereo. Ive found a siingle din adaptor thing here - but wanted to check if others have done this and if it worked ok?
I went to pop off the door panels stupidly with a screwdriver to get access to the back of speakers and they started cracking, so I stopped. I ordered this kind of jimmy kit off ebay to pop them off easier but will take awhile to arrive from China..
In the meantime I thought Id check if anyone knows what speakers are adaptable that can be bought off ebay? Ive got a single din stereo to slot in, but I was only able to get the diameter of the front of the speaker without the housing, and it seems all the measurements online may have the housing included in the dims they give? Theres one front set, one rear set and 4 tweeders from what I can tell - not sure if they need adaptors etc, but any help very welcomed before I start ripping things off!
I know the front without housing was 14cm on the back door one.. and the tweeders up front near the rear view mirror shifters (I got these panels off undamaged) were XQN000030.
