hi any defender owners around my area who could cast an eye every now and again on my rebuild,be good to have a second pair of eyes to see if Ive forgotten some thing

Hi Paul, I'm in Newhaven so next door really. It'd be great to see your rebuild and meet a local fellow Landy enthusiast although I doubt that I could advise much as mechanically I'm quite a numpty. I did take a V8 apart and back together again but that was under strict supervision.
I've have currently a 1985 E-reg 2.5P 90, was running beautifully but has given up the ghost recently, something ignition related, hopefully a poorly battery. In the past I've had a V8 90, 2.25P 90, V8 110, V8 RRC, S3 2.25 NAD 88, and a S3 2.25P 109. I must be out of my mind!!!
Only free weekends; give me a PM if you want to chat more.

Hi, Paul. I'm Mid Sussex, so not too far. I've worked on lots of cars over the years, removing engines from an E93A Poplar to a V6 Volvo, the latter with auto gearbox attached and built my own kit car and helped with others. I've unfortunately reached the age of decrepitude so can't lift or take up unusual positions but I've got lots of experience, some tools and can make tea or buy coffee. I'm free with advice, but then I'm not sure I'd follow my advice without a second opinion. Derek

Hi capo, merry x mas and happy new year to yourself. Do you have any bobtailing experience? Many thanks Jake.

Apologies Jake as I've only just seen your post. Hope you had a merry xmas and a happy new year too!

No bobtailing experience, and really as far as mechanics go, not a lot. I assisted in the removal, total rebuild and reinstall of a V8 in my two previous Landies - originally a 3.5 carb rebuilt as a 3.9 efi in a 90, then put into a 110. The lack of off street parking and tools also limits my abilities, so it's mainly trying to do basic serving and repairs.

I'm in Newhaven so give us a call if you're local.
