Hi Chaps,
I have been looking for a Landrover 110 Utility and have seen a few Scottish Power examples for sale north of the border. Simple question really, are these a wise buy in general or should I steer clear?

Thanks, in advance.

Most have roller sides or the boxes in front of rear wheels ,they will of been used off road but will of been well maintained so i dont see them being a problem

Thanks for the replies. The ones I've seen have flip up side doors with small lockers just forward of the rear wheels arches.

Mines an ex utilities 110 TD5. It'll probably have assister springs in the back because of all the weight it'll have been carrying around. Means the suspension will be very hard on the back without the weight. Took mine out and the ride was much better. Mine was also full of redundant wiring which I am still finding and removing. It should come with all the details of what has been done to it while with SP. It'll also very likely have a strengthened chassis. I don't regret buying the one I have.

Also, as part of a company fleet it is likely to have been serviced regularly and had replacement parts as soon as they were needed. Probably won't have a dealer-stamped service history booklet, but it will have been looked after.

I've got an ex Scottish power one and its brilliant. It's got side bins just in front of the rear wheels, assister springs, anti roll bars front and rear, heavy duty chassis etc... Pulls like a big ####ing train, has a ridiculously low mileage and is beautiful to drive. I would say go for it, it's a wise choice

:)

The only thing that might be a slight downside is that individual drivers might not have been too kind to it. Apprentices thrashing it around fields and through ponds when they think no one is looking, that sort of thing.

Hi. Bit behind the times. We just got an ex Scotish Power 110, the little storage compartment in front of the resr wheel wont open thoigh. Are they a seperate key. The roller key works and fuel cap key works but cant seem to get this little box open. Any ideas welcome. Cheers

When I got my Land Rover there was a bunch of keys with it but only one of them was any use, namely the one for the ignition and the front doors. All the other lock barrels had to be drilled out and replaced. I have a friend whose Land Rover came with a load of keys that wouldn't open any of the doors either so it seems to be a common experience. When his battery was flat and wouldn't operate the central locking I took a door off to get in. Fully stamped main dealer service history too.

Give up and get the drill out!

Apparently, it's good for a motor to have different drivers on a regular basis.
