On Wed 25th July the Server that Landyzone is on will have to be shut down for essential maintenance This will happen at 08:00 and should only take around 30 minutes.

I'm hoping that this won't ruin anyones day/week/month but I know how some of you need your morning fix before being able to tackle the world:D:D (in works time of course)
Hopefully everything should be back up and running normally as quickly as possible.

Have faith Sean, we do things efficiently down here :D

good luck - I once spent a week trying to rebuild a 2000 user MS Exchange database after a cleaner found herself in a comms rooms with no where to plug in her vacuum - so she unplugged a rack PDU strip

Oh dear, not the brightest move she could have made. I hope she got sacked on the spot

*note to self.. Remember to label plugs in future just in case*

''we'' got sacked for not testing that the daily backups actually worked

ah well

this was a long time ago Exchange Server 5.5 not long after release

Bu**er, now you have me thinking as to actually how 5.5 tape /and or backups actually worked.

At least it was not tied into AD at the time, and was sep. database, and exchange has always been "good" that you could always uninstall, install, whatever without a reboot of the bleeding server.

Once, however, a colleague of mine deleted a current AD user as she was on the domain, and in outlook. All sorts of things slowly closed their doors to her one afternoon.

Haha. Luckily there were only 4 DC 's in this network for a quick restore on the evening.

Still not happy with him who deleted the user. (even years later)
