Hi,
does anyone know where I can download some line drawings of a 4 door RRC & 90/110? I am looking at dropping a defender on to a RRC chassis and want to look where the body will line up.

cheers
Rich

I can't provide drawings, but tbh I'm not sure they will be of much help. You'll have to line it all up as you go.

Depending on what you are doing exactly, you'll need to remove the rear cross member from the RRC and fit a Defender one, the rear legs are arched on a RRC, so you'll probably need the body tub to balance on the new cross member while you line it up.

You'll also need to add the body out riggers front and rear.

Are you looking to chop the wheel base down too, or try and make a 100" Defender? If the latter, then obviously the rear tub will need modifying somehow.

it will be 100". Was looking to get an initial idea of where to add the extra in to the 90, so it looks 'right'. It's a bit easier to mess around with paper/card lol

Disco1 and RRC are very very similar ;)

He used a 110 rear tub and cut it down IIRC. So it looked like a proper Land Rover with the correct rear over hang, just a bigger distance from the rear wheel to the drivers door. This is how the factory D100's looked.

Some people use a 90 rear tub and cut the arches out to the back, makes it look bobtailed and IMO doesn't look very good. Although it probably has a shorter overhang, so the rear cross member must be in a slightly different place.

Don't know if you've started your project yet or if it's just a paper idea. But I always though a 100" Series One on a Disco2 chassis would make for an interesting vehicle. Rather than a 90...

Either that or just bob or pick up a Disco. A 100" Defender seems to be a lot of work IMO when you can buy a 90 fairly easily.

i have an rrc and 90 already, 90 chassis is a bit iffy. want something a little different, air suspension, v8 and good brakes.
I will have a look ariound the show at the weekend for inspiration. Anyone know where to get the 4x4 is born cheap?
