OK, my fault, I think I have rotated the steering column whilst fitting a new rack.

A new airbag rotary switch is VERY expensive. Ideas on a cheap fix appreciated.

ok - it woz a dumb Q.
Have yu tried www.autobreakers.co.uk or www.245spares.co.uk or www.paddockspares.com

Having looked at R***, i cant see a "switch" - there is a "Rotary Coupler" at the back of the steering wheel. It seems to be fitted with 3 screws and has a position sensor on one side.

lol - i have just seen.....
CAUTION: Before disconnecting any part of the steering linkage, ensure the road wheels are positioned straight ahead and the steering wheel is prevented from turning.
Unrestricted turning of the steering wheel will damage the SRS rotary coupler.

I spose it is too late for that now?

any cheaper options much appreciated!

p.s. don't rotate the steering wheel when not connected to rack. expensive lesson laerant!
