hi guys anyone know the going rate for a narrow track sankey in good working order? thinking about selling,,,thanks :)

Not much help I'm afraid, the pricess seem to range from £200 to £800 and its not always clear why. A lot will depend on the condition of the tub sides and floor, how much orginal stuff it has on - the legs, reflectors, lights, numberplate holder etc. It also seems to depend on where you are, when i was looking I found very few in the South East and loads 3-400 miles away so I was prepared to pay £100 more for one near me. I think I paid just under £300 but it needed quite a bit of welding to the tub floor.

thanks Rob,,,yes thats what i was wondering,,i paid £300 15yrs ago, i assumed they had gone up but like you seen prices from £300 to £1200 lol,,,but not found that many do do an average sort of thing

I think the problem with Sankeys is that they are limited to the number of people who have NATO hitches at the correct hight. We do so ours gets used and it has some mods to make it more usable - a tailgate and a Ivor Williams top but that manual reversing overide is pig. Go on e-bay and "watch" a range of Sankeys and see which ones sell over a month. That will give you a realistic guide to what people will pay. I would think the £400 range should be OK, its not bad to have a trailer 15 years and get your money back plus a bit.

yes ive used it for work,,origionally on a lightweight then a raised disco1,,though with a slight nose down,,,trouble is now ive ditched the 300tdi and got a stock disco2 so cant quiet figure out a way of using it with that as the nato hitch needs to be level with the deep stupid bumper,,,,and not really going along the lines of a steel replacement etc

I sold mine for 500 & I stripped it, painted & rewired to a normal 12 pin electrics. I done alright out it as it cost me 200.
Not bad for 2 days messing about at the house. :)

You've just reminded me that I need another nato hitch.

I have the NATO and std electrical sockets but the NATO one takes one hell of a force to un-plug. I'm sure the squaddies had no trouble but for a "normal" person its hard. That's the other problem with Sankeys, more orginal with the NATO wiring, but not everyone has the NATO socket. I ended up importing some for £60 a go (socket, plus metal cover), used one and put the others on e-bay.
