S**Tpart water pump lasted 5000miles!

Hi All is this a record for the longest lasting Britpart 300tdi water pump! Fitted July 09, bearing totally shot 19 Jan 10! Utter rubbish.

Your lucky..I replaced my water pump a few years ago with a genuine LR new one and it lasted 4 months, less than 3000 miles. Took it back for a refund/exchange to be told that it was "Wear and Tear". Replaced it with an Allmakes and it's still going strong, 3 years on.
Just put it down to the luck of the draw. Genuine is not always best apart from ignition parts on Classic V8's.
They couldn't get the engine blocks and liners right on 3.5 on V8's so what do you expect for the "Simple" bits.
