Got a good start on this today. First i removed the inner rubber waistline strip, then the door trim panel all as per Haynes Manual. I got a pack of new panel clips, and just as well as i broke a couple. Then removed outer rubber waistline strip held on by two metal clips (see thumbnails).
Next came the window frame. Release window from regulator arm. This was the only slightly awkward part of job as I had to reconnect electric window switch to lower window. This was to line up access hole with right hand bolt on the regulator. Then raise window again to line up hole for left hand bolt on regulator. I then removed 5 torx head bolts holding the window frame and lifted frame and windows out complete. I have hopefully attached photos of the extent of the rust. especially on the quarter window support channel at the bottom of quarter light glass.
Removed both windows from frame. Drop glass was easy, but quarter glass took a bit more persuasion. Two bolts to free afore mentioned support channel at the bottom of quarter glass.
I rubbed down all rusted areas and coated with Neutrarust and primer. Then painted black and left to dry.
Once dry and back together, I managed to get the windows and frame back in and bolted up before I lost daylight. Just got the door panel and waistline rubbers to go on tomorrow. I hope.
