Hi everyone i have just had my series 2a chasis welded and jus wondered if anyone could offer any advice on rust proofing, the chasis thanks Mark

I too would be interested the out come of this thread and all I can say is “Don’t forget the inside of the welded sections where the oil has burnt off”

Slippery

How do ya mean the inside of the weld sections ???? how do ya gain access to the insides lol im clueless about this subject -sorry-

cheers

Mark

Bits of you chassis is box section and if you have welded anything to this you would have burnt off any oil / protection there (it gets hot on both sides you know):)
I suspect that everyone will suggest Waxoil.
A real messy job

Ps
I DON'T suggest drilling holes in your chassis but a hole can usually be found somewhere

ok thanks can ya write it any bigger tho i am aving trouble reading that
Only joshing old bean, waxoyl is about the best bet I reckon. It's low cost and if you do the job over a cheap tarp you shouldn't leave a mess. Once it's on, best leave it to "go off" for a couple of days then it shouldn't drip with the heat from the exhaust.

Regards WP.
