My 1990 v8 twin carb gets up to temperature very quickly and the electric fans that are fitted seem come on almost as soon as you stop moving. The fan thermostat is set around 90 degrees C. I have a new radiator, coolant and hoses which I fitted about three weeks ago along with a new thermostat and I have made sure there are no airlocks and its toped up to the correct level (The interior heater also gives out heat so no air in there either). The heads are fine after a compresion test so theres no problems there. Should I try removing the thermostat and running it just to see if I have a faulty or an incorrect thermostat?

Temperature guage reads exactly half way when im on the move and within half a minute to a minute goes to closer three quaters than half and the fans bring it back down again. I know its bound to get hoter when theres no air flowing through the rad but it just seems a bit to quick. I havent had the landy that long and when I bought it it needed the rad replacing straight away so I did the thermostat at the same time. This does however mean I dont know if it was like this before I changed the stat and rad because I only drove it 5 miles home with a leaky rad before changing it.

?????????

go out and buy yerself some of that there rad flush stuff, and after you've used it give it a good back flushing with yer garden hose(if you are allowed to) that will clean out any crap that may be blocking yer water ways.
