Hello.....again!

My 1987 RRC seems to be stuck in High ratio.

I can get the difflock no problem, but I can't move the lever forward at all.

I googled the problem with no joy, but did read a thread about a similar problem on a disco which was caused by a solenoid on the transfer box.

Is this likely to be the problem on mine???????

Thanks.......again!!

Steve

thought they were on a linkage like the disco, plenty of plusgas and get physical with the lever, might just be stuck because of lack of use. (unless it's electric then just ignore me:D)

Just siezed through lack of use. Give the linkage and joints a good soak with WD or Plus and as mentioned, give it some large. It can take a bit of time but it will free off eventually. I had to hit mine with a mallett to get any movement.

Welcome to the money pit club!! my to do list seems to be never ending!lol A good few white knucles will help free it off. Mine gets stuck occaisionally and i stick the main box in neutral with the engine running and it seem to help a bit!

Thanks for the input.

As suggested I got it moving today using brute force and ignorance. Managed to break the knob thingy off in my hand but hey ho!!

Thanks for the help!!!!

I find lubicant applied to parts now and again has a wonderful affect on their functionality.:D:D:D
