Ok, have decided to a bit of exhaust fabrication and am about to order some bits from the comfort of my sofa...

Problem is I don't have the car to hand and can't remember what the bore of the stock system is? I am going from the first box which is stock, does 2.5" sound right?

Thanks if you know!!:) you will be rewarded by some pics of my shoddy welding as soon as the bits come!!!!!

what engine?

3.9 V8:eek:

I have bitten the bullet and ordered a 2.5" Dia cherry bomb, 2 x 45deg bends, 1m of pipe and that it, sounds like the component parts of a very loud pipe to me!

Should get it welded up this week work permitting, cars in for its MOT so as soon as its out then the pipework commences!

My Rover 827 passed using just a double savage rear silencer. Sounded like an F1 car when you had it at full throttle. MOT inspector loved it.

If your keeping the first box it shouldnt be too loud. I run a Double ****e I mean S exhaust. Not a great deal louder than standard mild steel system.

will it pass the next mot with that noise?

I took the precaution of MOT'ing it today and it had no exhaust from the front box back!!!!:p

Only item of note was a numberplate lamp out, I cannot wait to see what the cherrybomb sounds like. Since the age of 16 I have always wanted to fit one of these to a vehicle, its my inner child coming out I guess!

Front box is going, just the cherry bomb, 2x45 bends and 1m of 2.5" tube.
